What’s On Tap: Brian Link from Milley’s Tavern & Stark Brewing Co.
Our brewery began in the Stark Mill Building at 500 Commercial St. Manchester, NH in 1994 as the Stark Mill Brewery, opening through the hard work and love of the craft by master brewer and restaurateur Peter Telge, a New Hampshire native, who has been brewing his own beers for the better part of 20 years. With the help of his dedicated staff, Peter also proudly operate Manchester’s only
craft-brew pub Milly’s Tavern which also serves as the official tasting room for STARK BREWING COMPANY. The community that has developed around the craft brew at Milly’s began as regular pub guests and friends and grew into one of the Manchester area’s most beloved gathering places. After garnering dozens of awards over the last two decades, including “Best Craft Beer in New England” for 2013, Peter decided it was time to unleash his amazing craft ales on the world. Hence the birth of STARK BREWING COMPANY.
The staff at Stark Brewing Company believe that giving back to the community is more important than anything else they do. The best days of the year are spent gathering groups of people together to enjoy Stark’s craft-brew and Milly’s tasty pub fare while raising funds for local charities & non-profit organizations. We are proud to say we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last 2 decades. Peter believes that since he has been able to utilize his restaurant and brewery space to create memorable events over the years, that utilizing this space for charity events is not only the right thing to do, but a top priority for he and the Stark Brewing Company team!

Monks start brewing beer to keep abbey open
Diversification is common advice for investors, but guess what? Monks have to do it too.
For more than 60 years, the Trappist monks at St. Joseph’s Abbey had relied on jams and jellies to support their monastery and community work in Spencer, Mass. But a few years ago, they realized the “expense line was rising at a faster rate than our income,” said Friar Issac.
So in the spirit of their heritage (Trappist monks have been brewing beer in Europe for centuries), the monks at St. Joseph decided to start a brewery. Spencer Brewery opened its doors earlier this year as the first Trappist brewery outside of Europe. READ MORE!
